Crystal Beach is one of the few beaches in Galveston County where you can still drive on the beach. This makes it a famous beach, it was basically a sand highway where you could drive back and forth from your beach house or just cruise and enjoy the sun. It is located on Bolivar Island which is accessible by ferry from Galveston.
Golf carts are permitted on most streets and beaches on Bolivar Peninsula and are a great way to enjoy your visit without the hassle of taking your car everywhere.
The Wallis Smith Community Golf Course is Located on Bolivar Peninsula just west of Crystal Beach Texas. Surrounded by Rancho Carribe, a gated community with frontage on highway 87. Ask anyone and they can direct you to this 9-hole course that’s surrounded by beautiful homes.
This is a gem tucked away at the wharf, a 45-minute tour that takes you out onto the bay and ocean where you surprisingly see a lot of dolphins! A great inexpensive way to see the harbor and dolphins, especially for kids!

Extremely unique pieces of history on site! Nearly everything inside and out is accessible and it was all free to roam. Visitors were allowed to climb onto the exhibits, enter through countless doors, take photographs, and view at their own pace. Definitely recommended to make a trip to this museum for new experiences!
